FAQS & EXPERTISE
Therapy for high-achieving women, in person in Baltimore and online across Maryland
1. Who do you work with?
I work with high-achieving women who look fine, capable and polished on the outside but feel anxious, exhausted, over-responsible, or unsupported on the inside. Many of my clients are adult daughters navigating complicated mother-daughter relationships, and leaders who struggle with people-pleasing at work. I see clients in person in Baltimore, MD, and online across Maryland.2. Do you work with adult daughters of emotionally immature mothers?
Yes, this is the heart of my practice. I’m a certified mother-daughter coach and certified in mother-daughter attachment. Whether your mother is critical, distant, or someone you’ve limited contact with, therapy can help you grieve what you didn’t receive and stop carrying the pattern forward.3. Do you help with people-pleasing in leadership?
Yes. Many of my clients are leaders, executives, and business owners who struggle to delegate, give hard feedback, or say no without anxiety or guilt. We look at how early relationship patterns show up in professional ones, so you can lead from steadiness instead of approval-seeking. 4. What type of therapy helps with people-pleasing and guilt about setting boundaries with my mom?
EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychodynamic therapy can all help, because people-pleasing often begins as a way to stay connected to a parent. Instead of just learning boundary scripts, this work helps the guilt itself soften, so boundaries start to feel possible rather than cruel. I combine these approaches in my practice.5. Can I see you online if my relationship with my mother is distant or estranged?
Yes. I offer online therapy to women anywhere in Maryland, including those navigating a distant or estranged relationship with their mother. You don’t need to have decided whether to repair the relationship. Therapy is a place to sort out what you want.6. Why do I over-function and always end up “the responsible one”?
Over-functioning often starts when a child learns that being helpful, competent, or low-maintenance is the safest way to stay loved. As adults, that can look like doing everyone’s job at work, holding the family together, and feeling guilty when you rest. I help women in Baltimore and across Maryland understand where the pattern came from and build relationships where support flows both ways.7.What should I look for in a therapist if I’m a high-achieving woman who feels burned out?
Look for someone who understands that burnout often isn’t only about working too hard. It’s about carrying too much, alone, for a long time. A good fit will go beyond stress-management tips to the patterns underneath: over-functioning, perfectionism, and difficulty receiving support. That’s the focus of my work with women in Baltimore and across Maryland.8.Do you offer EMDR therapy in Baltimore?
Yes. I offer relational EMDR therapy for women in person in Baltimore and online across Maryland, and I’m a member of EMDRIA. EMDR helps process earlier experiences that still drive anxiety, people-pleasing, and over-functioning today. It can help you to grow the positive beliefs that you feel difficult to believe about yourself and help you re-envision your future. 9.How do I get started, and do you take insurance?
